On-Air Commentary
Most people pick which games to watch based on who’s playing. For Luke Connelly, it’s about who is calling the game, too.
Luke has been a passionate fan of sports journalism and play-by-play announcing from a young age, even commentating while performing his own laneway layups and spectacular street hockey shootout goals.
He translated that passion into an opportunity to become the play-by-play voice for Bishop’s University’s sports teams, the Gaiters. This experience allowed Luke to hone his broadcast skills with Bishops’ football, basketball, lacrosse, and other teams while building chemistry with several different broadcast partners. He received the Ray Almond Award in recognition of his service to the Gaiters.
Luke later enrolled at the College of Sports and Media, graduating in 2022 , and has further proven his skills by providing play-by-play commentary for field hockey and volleyball games at the university level.
With mentorship and support from some of Canada’s leading sports authorities, Luke Connelly is ready to join broadcasting’s best.
